omg, what are you talking about, babe? You were the most of demanding dot com! "Sweetie, I brought you home a treat from work!" "No, don't eat the silica gel!" "Please stop punching me!"

Geez. No wonder I had to throw so many tantrums!

I think that's one reason we worked well together. I so rarely asked something of you that you would need to say no to. :-) (At least, I think... if I'm 100% wrong, how would I know?)

I'm not clear on the office dynamics of this situation. Is Clerk your superior or a more or less equal?

If he's your superior, then his action in e-mailing you documents to print, rather than printing and collecting them and asking you to collate is douchbaggery, but he is entitled...

If he's a more or less equal, then he should do his own FAQing work!!!

The reprographics problem wasn't your fault, unless you let the machine know you were in a hurry! ;)

And I've never had an issue with saying "no", as long as I have a reason why I can't do what I was being asked to do, or it means major inconvenience (like sitting in a bar myself [and on soft drinks at that] for several hours).

God, saying no is such an uphill battle. I think it has to be something about our generation. A bunch of people pleasers. Or being a woman, or being young. Regardless I pretty much always feel uncomfortable disagreeing or saying no. It's hard.

Saying "no" more often is a definite sub-heading on my "List". It's one of the shortest words in the dictionary, but one of the most difficult things to say.. or hear.

Love this post.

p.s. did you know your comment on my blog the other day inspired my latest post? Just sayin.. the next time you're in a funk, remember that.

I don't like saying "no" either. But your edit is why I'm so stubborn about not learning how; because every once in a while, the ideal happens: you don't say "no" and someone still manages to be considerate.

One of my earliest memories is of my mother telling me that it's perfectly ok to say no to an adult and that I should never feel bad for doing so.

I love this.

Great blog and I adore your header!
