[...] NTKOG #93: Spendin’ zero dollars on my food budget. I’m really sad that I didn’t stick with this particular experiment. Since this time, I’ve started spending all my evenings in Cambridge, writing, and subsequently living off of pizza and take-out. My body and budget are extremely peeved with me about this. My writerly-dudeliness isn’t. [...]

Best pizza in Boston?

Pinocchio's in Harvard Square. Also, there's a guy working there who looks like friggin' George Clooney.

In case you can't tell, I've totally been going through the archives these past few days (weeks? who knows...).

When my purse is on the lean side (i.e., all the time), I go with a loaf of bread and various cheeses...grown-up grilled cheese for a week! Paired with some sautéed collard greens, and it ends up being fairly well balanced. Also, pasta coated with olive oil, (browned) minced garlic, and crushed red pepper is glorious and cheap as dirt.

Then, of course, there are the staples that I will always keep stocked in my pantry: canned tuna/crackers (for those not deathly afraid of marine creatures) and box macaroni. Clearly the most useful thing I learned in college was how to live on a grad student's stipend.

Huh, look at me, making a classic Italian dish, and I didn't even know it!

Isn't sesame oil kinda spicy? Could be interesting.

Made right (just enough oil to coat the pasta, but no more) "pasta a la oglio" is a classic Italian dish, so no disgrace there. Ok, I've said before that I don't like it, but I don't really like the flavour or texture of olives! I might try other oils though, maybe sesame oil?
